three times the work

Post by Fido »

Hello,

I had only 10 minutes to finish my work, but you gave Tim a half-hour. Tim had three times the work.

My question is whether the last sentence is correct.Sounds strange to me. I`d say....Tim had three times more time to finish the work (than me)

Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you.

'Three times the work' refers to the quantity of work, not the amount of time in which to do it!
