Although I have engaged a native speaker as my private tutor,
I still cannot hear any difference in pronunciation between east / yeast, ooze / woos. Can anyone help me distinguish these two pairs in pronunciation? Thank you very much for your help.

Sorry, this forum is for questions on grammar and usage.

(In any case, written explanations are not likely to be able to do anything that your live native-speaker teacher cannot. Persistance and repeated practice are your only hope!)
