A scenic ascent

Post by pdh0224 »

Dear teacher,

Thangkas are religious paintings. And the dozens of them that fill five levels of open gallery space make for a scenic ascent. Demonic bruisers in tiger-skin briefs flex and snarl. Gods putt around on clouds or have sex or dance little jigs en pointe. A conclave of lamas, monks and sages has a floor all to itself. Some look like bankers, others like eggheads, still others seem spacey or slightly cracked, not unlike the average crowd on a New York street.

Q : What does "the dozens make for a scenic ascent" mean?

All the best,

There are dozens of these paintings, and their presence makes the upward climb pleasant to view.
