What is a relation?

Post by pdh0224 »

Dear teacher,

Oil and gas deposits on land are likely to be harder to extract as tundra thaws, limiting the frozen season when drilling convoys can traverse the otherwise spongy ground, the report says. Alaska has already seen the "tundra travel" season on the North Slope shrink to 100 days from about 200 days a year in 1970.

Q : What is a relation between "limiting the frozen season" and " drilling convoys can traverse the otherwise spongy ground"? How it could affect the fronzen seanon that drilling convoys can traverse the otherwise spongy ground?

The expression strikes me also as a little strange: I would suggest understanding 'limiting the frozen season' as meaning simply 'limiting the period'.
