can you please help me out with this sentence

Post by zowiezowie »

Hello,

I am a dutch student and I would like to ask a question. We had to write an english letter and I used the next sentence:

My bankcard has been stolen out of my backpack. I would like to know if this is correct english? I really do think that it is but my teacher told me : My bankcard has been stolen from my backpack. I would say that it is both possible but that out of my backpack is better because when you use from my backpack you actually say that it is the belonging of the backpack, like in a person.

Please help me out with this

Greetings zoë
