"Is" or "Are"?

English grammar help. Grammar questions from ESL learners

"Is" or "Are"?

1. I don't know which of you is more wonderful," I said. "You or she."

My friend says that it should be "are" and not "is". I believe, according to prescriptive grammar, it should be "is". Am I right?
