Hello,

I have the following example:
At 8 am today, I ate/was eating my breakfast.
The answer key says that the sentence
At 8 am today, was eating my breakfast.
is correct, but aren't both possible?

I think that the sentence:
At 8 am today, I was eating my breakfast.
informs that I was in the process of eating at that time,
and
At 8 am today, I ate my breakfast.
informs about the fact that I did that.

What's your opinion?

Yes, both are grammatically possible...
