Although and verb tense

Hi, everyone!
I'm from Brazil and I have a doubt. Could you tell me which one of the sentences below are correct. Take a look!
1. Although I didn't study for the test, I got a good grade.
2. Although I hadn't studied for the test, I got a good grade.
So, is it a case of using past/past or past perfect/past tense in the clauses? Could both cases be correct?
Thanks!
