Usage of who and whom

Would the following constitute correct usage of "who"?
"There was an elderly gentleman in one instance who had recently underwent a cholecystectomy and was examined by the PA I was shadowing at the time"
"There was an elderly gentleman in one instance who had recently underwent a cholecystectomy and was examined by the PA I was shadowing at the time"
