Problems with articles!

Post by tingrita »

Hello,
Please kindly help me with my grammar problem. {-:
In the sentence, "Frozen dumplings can also be found in all the supermarkets."
Do we have to add "the" before supermarkets? In my idea, I think "in all supermarkets" is better because it's generic sense, but I am not really sure about that.
Thank you in advance.

If 'all supermarkets without exception' is meant (as opposed to a specific, recently discussed group), then 'the' should be omitted.
