Hi everyone!
Sorry, if the topic came up before, and the question is rather easy (and a bit stupid, may be). The sentence my friend came up with is Unfortunately, me and Sonya we can't be there. There some things that confuse me:
1. Can a speaker put him-/herself on the first place? Shouldn't it be Sonya and me?
2. Is it approrpiate to use a subject pronoun we after an object pronoun+noun me and Sonya?
3. and if it is possible, don't we use comma before we (me and Sonya, we...?
4. As I remember, it is more formal to use an object pronoun me instead of a subject one I, right?
My friend meant that none of use would be able to come to the place, and we were not supposed to come together. So, personally, I think that it's better to rewrite the whole sentence (e.g. Unfortunately, neither me nor Sonya can be there). But I really want her variant to be explained to me by some native speaker or English teacher.
Thank you in advance!
