In my previous query I wrote the sentence 'I enjoy others praising me' (which is,in fact, said by my non-native English teacher)
I once read in some English grammar book that some verbs can't have an object before an -ing form and 'enjoy' is included in that list.
Is the sentence in italics grammatically correct?

According to the most formal rules of usage, the object of 'enjoy' here should be in the possessive, not the objective, form (--> I enjoy others' praising me).
In practice, however, the use of object case-forms in this position is so common that to object to it would generally be regarded as pedantic.
