but <...> instead

Post by koariko »

Hello! I need some help with the following phrase:
I don't really make whole thoughts in English, yet i often cannot remember some Russian words, but English ones instead.
I know that i tend to use too complicated constructions, but i just want to know if it is grammatically correct. I have some doubts about the accentuated part. Somehow it feels right, but i can neither remember a rule about this construction nor find a thing on the internet.

Should i rather go with "...but i do remember English ones instead" or is it OK as it is?
