Texas Legislature selected Vassar Miller.....in1982,andagain in1988.
1-as the state`s poet laureate
2- the state`poet laureate
in sources of toefl the correct choice is 2 but i don`t understand why it is correct because i think the verb of select must be followed by a prep.
please help me
