PRISTINA, Kosovo, Serbia -- A UN-run court in Gniljane handed down a seven-year sentence Thursday (10 August) to former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) commander Selim Krasniqi, for crimes committed against fellow ethnic Albanians in 1998. Krasniqi was found guilty of the abduction, torture and murders of Kosovo Albanians who collaborated with Serbian authorities. Lower-ranked KLA members were also sentenced to seven years. The trial was marked by repeated postponements and apparent witness intimidation. (RTS, KosovaLive, AP - 10/08/06)
