This article is dedicated to SOHRAB SEPEHRI, one of the most famous Iranian poets.SEPEHRI was born in Kashan on 2 June,1928;a very talented artist and a gifted poet,SEPEHRI came to prominence with the publication of WATER`S FOOTFALL that was subsequently followed by TRAVELLER and GREEN VOLUME. SEPEHRI has mixed visual images taken from painting with Eastern misticism and produced a kind of poetry that is unique and original.
SEPEHRI traveled to different parts of the world such as:Paris,London,Rome,Venice,Tokyo,Agra and Taj Mahal (India). This travels greatly affected his poetris ,as can be seen in TRAVELLER:
...The journey took me to the gate of my childhood orchard.
Here is another entry of TRAVELLER, translated from Persian. But before that I`d like you to know that you may not find this translated poetry so beautiful ,as I did.But you`d really enjoy them,If you knew Farsi!
...Involved means in love
-and imagine how lonely would the little fish feel
were it involved with the blueness of the infinite sea.
-What sad delicate imagination!...
SEPEHRI died of blood cancer in Tehran in 1980.
