What is your national sport?

Postby Butler » Sun May 15, 2005 10:46 am

I come from Ireland and we have our own national sports.
We have Gaelic football and Hurling ( http://www.gaa.ie/ )
These are amateur sports but still have massive followings. I went to see my county (Laois) win the Leinster championship in Dublin some years ago and there were 90,000 people there, that's more than the World Cup Final.

And now I live in Slovakia and their national sport is Ice Hockey..it's everywhere, people love and live this game...I don't know the rules just yet.

So what is the national sport of your country?

Lacrosse is the national sport but within Canadian hearts, hockey should be.

I dislike soccer as well. but I love German soccer's athletes  they are good-looking

when I watch soccer TV, it seems as if I was concerned about soccer, actually, I am concerned about those handsome soccer guys, espacially, from Germany and Italy

I have to agree with Markus about soccer in Germany. Other popular sports in Germany are formula 1 racing and depending on the time of the year, cycling and wintersports are kinda popular as well.

We call our national sport as "sipa". It is played by making a shuttlecock bounce as many times as you can by using your head, foot and elbows.
