passion lives there... leave your opinions here

Hello Friends! I'm surprised nobody talks about the Olympics! My country lives with it for almost two weeks and it still brings pleasure and admiration!!!
I like to support! I support every kind of sport my country is involved in!
So many things happen in Torino! Unfortinately all the holiday is coming to an end... What a pity!
I'm a bit late... Anyhow, how did you like the opening? What kind of sport activity did you watch or are you still watching? Did you have any embarassment or amazement, misconception or surprises?
And what do you think about the Olympics in general? Is is competition of will and courage, or a technical competition or everything even may happen by chance? You prefer Winter or Summer Olympic Games?
Thank you for your replies... :D

Michelle Kwan pulled herself out of the games. I felt sorry for her. She's never meant to get a gold medal for the Olympics. Poor girl! :(

Kwan's replacement, Emily Hughes, is nothing compared to Sara Hughes. What a disappointment! And sorry, I don't know about the other girl.

I watch it, but I don't watch it that often to remember all their names. Besides I don't consider figure ice skating as a real sport, so it's hard for me to discuss with people around me as like it is.

Hm, I see... And what sport activities do you consider as real ones? :?:

You see, in figure skating the score is determined on how nice and well the performance of each skater could do. I classify it in the same class with gymnastics. Although they both have the spins, splits, jumping, etc., I just don't see them as real sports since there are judges to give out the scores. They're nice to watch, but I don't see they're exciting enough for me.

OK. I'm not trying to give you an attitude, Lennye. :D I'm friendly with you! I agree the judgement sometimes contradicts with the common impression and etc... I just wonder what sport activity you like. That's it.
