Hmmmm... I don't know about Gothic Lolita since I'm not interested in dressing as one, but I still like sanrio characters. I have a lot of their stuff. My cousins did dress like characters in sailormoon; however, it was for Halloween.

I didn’t say they shouldn’t. I’m just saying that it might be a cultural thing (and that’s why I provide a quote from the article).
For example, in Ukraine, girls (16-19 years old) on contrary try to look older then they are. They wear high heels, make up, career type of clothing, etc and they definitely don’t have hellokitty charms on their cell phones. Or, perhaps, I’ve been away from Ukraine for too long and things have changed dramatically. You tell me.

It is so. And there's some of the individual's personality also. Some women I know are in their late 20's still have hello kitty, mashimoro or whatever that thing is in their cars.

I also like Hello Kitty very much although I don't have anything at home from this character. But I like it because it is pink. And I love all pink things!
