Do you know "Otaku"?

In Japan, people who really like something are called "Otaku" in Japanese.

For example, "Anime Otaku" loves Anime more than anything else.

They are usually men and adults.

They are generally not liked much by others.

But I do not dislike them.

Because I like Anime too.

Do you know "Otaku"?

I guess I'm a bit Anime Otaku too. Although I'm not Japanese.

I don't understand why otakus aren't liked so much. I understand when people won't like NEETs, but Otaku should be something good, I think. A person being so obsessed by some hobby, is a great person.. at least Anime otaku is good. I think people might dislike otaku, because they think otaku is same as NEET, witch might be often also true, but.. the not called otakus who go to partying, or doing other silly, popular things, instead of watching all week worth of anime with the short time of at weekend, are much worse.

I like "Letter Bee",(Tegami Bachi), "Bkuman" and "To Aru Majutsu No Index" animes most. I watch them from Internet.... I like also "Yumeiro Patissiere" and "Kuragehime". ^_^

In general , the Japanese likes normal persons.

So , the person who has a peculiar taste are not liked so much.

There are a lot of people who think that the Anime is for children.

Therefore , it seems that "Anime Otaku" is shameful.

However , the number of "Anime Otaku" has been incresing in Japan.

I'm glad that the number of those who have the same hobby as me is incresing.

But an incident happened in 1988.

"Anime Otaku" kidnapped , and killed a little girl happened.

I swear, that anime have changed me into better person. ^_^

But once I accidentally downloaded, a "shotacon" pornographic anime from net. That was shocking. I never imagined such things exist.
After that, I have been more careful to chose what to watch.
Otherwise, even though I'm not a gay, I don't have problem to watch also "yaoi", or "shonen ai" animes... but if it's "yaoi that contains porn", or with too much of "ai" then I don't want to watch it. But most of people that I know, would never watch "yaoi". So I must be very much otaku. lol

But I think that there might be 1000x more cases, when anime have actually healed someone, or made better. :)
But no one count those cases.

In end it might be just the choice of anime. I don't like horror, or bloodshed anime too much.

I have learned some of about anime otakus by watching "genshiken" anime. It's one of my favorite anime of the all the times. Most of the otakus in "genshiken" are all very nice and kind people.. Even though they like "ecchi" stuff.^_^

I love anime too.
I think all Otaku are bad.
It is very good for someone to like something very much.
I think that the society will be better if the prejudice disappears.
