an important new discovery in something you are studying, especially one made after trying for a long timebreakthrough in Scientists have made a major breakthrough in the treatment of cancer.
e.g. Dr. Gabe Mirkin reports on the latest breakthroughs in Health, Fitness, Nutrition, Men's Health and Women's Health issues.
Try a Google search if unsure, typing in the word/ words and see what results it returns. Tip: the model sentences should be taken from magazines, articles, newspapers, i.e. reliable sources.
