eat a dish

Postby simplythebest » Mon Jun 22, 2009 8:43 am

Hi there,

Could I use 'eat' with reference to 'dish' as in
We ate some exquisite seafood dishes at Nora's party.

Thanks,

It is useful to note that the word “dish” referred to in this context is not the actual dish you are eating on. It is the dish that is contained in the dish!
I love being an Online ESL Tutor! It is always fun and interesting!
