Are there any difference between "journal" and "dairy"

hi goodnews - the two words can be synonymous, both involve daily data entry of
some sort.

a "diary" is for personal experiences, usually of a private nature.

a "journal" can be the same; also, it can contain data for research or some similar
purpose, often for later publication.
