Hello Everybody!
Please, could anyone help me with this question, however?

In one definition the following is given:
A robber robs a person or a place,
But A thief steals something.
Notwithstanding, the following answer to the one of the quiz questions is given from
this source:
My car is robbed: they took the CD player.
According to the definition above why is stolen not used in this case?

Many thanks...

"My car was stolen" would mean that the robber took the entire car.
"My car was robbed" implies that the car was burgled, and items (the CD player) were stolen from it.
