how to memorize words effectively

I have a problem remembering new words. can you help me how can i memorize vacabulary with fun ? and is there anyone has used supermemo to remember words. does it useful? thank you!!!

I memorize by using mnemonics, that is by using the first letters of each word to form a new word as a formula or words that rhyme which can be easily recognized or remembered.
Example in Music:
Key of E = every
Key of G = good
Key Of B = boy
Key of D = does
Key of F = fine
Key of A = always


Or Roy G. Biv for the colors of the rainbow or spectrum.

Or Pvt. Tim Hall = Essential amino acids (Phenylanine, Valine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Isolucine, Histidine, Arginine, Leucine, Lysine.

For nouns and (some) action verbs, try searching for the word in Google Images and repeat the word while you look at the pictures. So if you're trying to memorize the word snooze, you'll see a bunch of pictures of people (and clocks) sleeping and it will help you to better visualize it later!
