Your own personal perspective of how Asian culture is different than others, but somehow is the same in some ways. How well have you dealt with the differences?

I think Vietnamese don't hug as much as other people of different ethnics. Well, at least not for me when I was there. My French cousin hugged me when we were picking him up at the airport with my great-aunt and great-uncle. Truthfully speaking, I was scared and embarrassed. My face got extremely red and my heart was beating like a horse on a race. I thought I knew some French words, but all came out of my mouth was, "Mer...mer...mer..." I couldn't even finish the whole word, but Mer.... Merci for what??!?!?!?! Don't ask me because I still don't know why I said that word. I just got scared when a guy hugged me.

Okay, how about.........Each culture has its own stereotypes of other cultures. Yes, it's cruel, but I don't think people could help it to not having some stereotypes towards others. So instead of believing in them or taking them serious, why don't we laugh at them and on the other hand, prevent ourselves from thinking that way? What I'm asking is, do you know some stereotypes that other people have for Asians? Or do you know some stereotypes of one Asian to another? If yes, please share them here. Let's laugh and learn.....

Iv'e heard....
Chinese- have slanted eyes.
Koreans- only eat BBQ pork ribs like black people.
Japanese- Evil and eccentric.
Vietnamese- "fish sauce"
Pacific Islanders- no pale skin
Indians- "curry"
For all Asians- really smart in Math, computer geeks, short, small weenies, etc. (Okay my Asian men, I'm not trying to embarrass you if it's true :P . Just stated what I've heard of... No harm feelings. ).
