How to help the developing countries?

Improvements in health, education and trade are essential for the development of poorer nations. However, the governments of richer nations should take more responsibility for helping the poorer nations in such area. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

I agree that health, education and trade are important for the development of poorer countries, because, they are all related to each other. For example, if most citizens including the children in a country are poor educated, it is likely that they will become less competitive in term of trading and labour knowledge, etc. and their averaged income will also be lower comparing with neighbour countries. If they are poor and even unable to gain enough food to support their family, it is unlikely that they will care about the health problem. Therefore, it can be said that health, education and trade are not only essential for development of poorer nation and also for survival.

The question as to whether richer nation should help poorer nations in these 3 essential areas, in my opinion, the richer countries should help those poorer countries, but donation or load are not enough. Firstly, I think that the government of richer country should provide sufficient training to the local teacher if they need further education. They should building more school and provide equipment including learning material and stationary. In term of health, it can start from education first. Children in these poorer countries should be told about the health care knowledge. Also medical practitioner and medicine should be provided continuously and frequently. In term of trading, the economy of most poorer countries rely on faming, they should be provided facilities, such as tool, seeds(it may be genetic changed seeds in order to increase productions.) or new farming system may need to be introduced if necessary. When a farmer can support themselves and their children, it is more likely that the children will have a chance to go school. It can be said that if the Children of a country can go school, a county will have a future.

Lucia. Thank you for your contribution to this topic. I agree that the concept of “developing and developed country” come from western country. But I am not sure if there is any clear definition of these terms. Nevertheless, despite of the political background of all country on the earth, my understanding is that developed country is a well organized country with sufficient resource in term of food (agricultural matter, such as farming) , education, healthy and trading and the living standard of citizens in these countries is generally acceptable, i.e. at least they don’t have to worry about for food and their basic need can be satisfied. On the other hand, developing country may be luck of resource, such as technician, knowledge, natural resource or money, to develop these areas and the living standard of citizens is harsh and unbearable. The poor situation may due to harsh land or low rainfall.

I agree that education is a continuing progress, as there is a maxim “live to learn, learn to live”. Therefore, it can be said that long life continuing studying should be a target for everyone. So you are right, everybody should be humble, therefore, it may impossible for anyone or any countries to claim that “I finished my education” or “we can teach the rest of the world a lot of lessons”.

Nevertheless, I think that there may be some misunderstanding with my point in my previous post. What I mean is that there are many children; they don’t even have a chance to start with their studying, no matter of what kind of level, kindergarten, high school, and college whatever. The lack of education may due to lack of resource which I have just mentioned. Therefore, the point is that, despite of every imaginable political motive, if a rich country is willing to provide necessary equipment, knowledge or even load, to help these children, it is highly likely that the children will be directly benefited from the aid, as least, they can write their name by themselves. Also, If a farmer have necessary knowledge or tools to improve the productive with limited resources, the residue faming products can be sold for money, as a result there living standard can be improved.

Although, general speaking, US is a rich developed country. However, help or aid are not necessary coming from US. Beside, there are many countries in the world are able to offer help to other countries when necessary.

Beside anything else, their governments have to change. Most of the developing countries are ruling under from a dictator or a corruption government. They don’t let their people free to express themrselft. The government has to serve and loves their citizens. However it seems happening the other way around. It is sad.

well, I agree with you that richer country has to help to poorer country in some field like education, trade, and health..
nevertheless, it is not make poorer country depended to richer country because they are giving something infact they have mission, like to control, to spread theirs concep. to influence, to be theirs ally.. this above it will make trouble to receiver country in the future.
they will not be able to independent anymore.
