Yes, I know Bee Gees, Chet Baker--they were pretty famous during their time and still are now, I think. I like their song How Deep is Your Love. I remember there was a time I only listened to Bee Gees and Beatles, no one else. It was retarded. LOL.

No, LennyeTran, I understand why you only listen to their songs, because they are too good and also you have taste too :) . I love Bee Gees's "How can you mend a broken heart". I remember a participant of American Idol , he is a Ruben Studdard. He sung this song with his soulful voice. It is unforgettable. You may visit the following web-site to see how he looks like.

:OO: you're watching this show also? I don't watch it that much, but I know about it and I read the posts in a realitytv forum about the constestants and stuff. I think I knew the show because of the Chinese guy William Hung who sang She Bangs. It was pretty hilarious. :D

Hi, I'm Meg living in the place where Aichi Expo 2005 is held now.
I am interested in wide range of topics, especially which is treated in newspapers or so.

I love peace, human-beings and of course my family :!:

And I love music, Japanese Enka is not my cup of tea, but my favorites are classical music(Shopin,Horowitz and Rakhmaninov )and jazz, pops, gospel (Amazing Grace makes me cry, but Is this a gospel?), rap, motown 80's and .....

I don't mind genre, only if it makes me feel good.

I know this song " My funny Vallentine" by Chet Baker. About Jazz, I like "Autum Leaves" by Miles Davis, "Mornin'" by Art brakey,"Some of these days" by Ella Fitzgerald, most of songs Billy Holiday(She's my favorite), and "Lover Man" by Carmen McRae.

I am mostly keep cool, calm and collected in eveything...maybe.

It is ununderstandable for me that most of Japanese can easily naturalize other country's custom or tradition such as Christmas events(even though they are not Christian), St.Valentine's Day, St.Jordy?? even if they have been commercialized....I think it's mysterious. Still I like Japan!

If you feel like asking me about Japan, feel free to ask anytime.
I could be of any assistance as much as possible. Thank you.

Hi Meg, I am glad to hear that you like Chet Baker's song. "My Funny Vallentine" is definitely a wonderful song. I think that "I fall in love so easily" is also fabulous. I also like Johnny Hartman and John Coltrane. ;)

Hi, Chet. It's really cool name, ha?
I also like Chet Baker's "But not for me". It's a bit on the sentimental side, but lovely, isn't it?
John Coltrane's "My favorite things", Lee Morgan's "The Sidewinder", Grover Washington, Jr's "Winelight" and "Just The Two Of Us"(very romantic)....My list goes on and on....never ends ;)
Actually my husband likes jazz better than me, so I tried to find out Johnny Hartman's CD from his collections, but he doen't have them. Maybe I'll give it a try some time. Tell me your recommendation just in case, please.
I listened to "I fall in love too easily", I thought it was me  I like "Look for the silver lining" ,too. This is also my own belief. Good song. I'm going to post it for Music & Songs Forum. I am afraid how many people know this song....

Hi Meg, It is wonderful. We both like Jazz. The album, John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED], is one of few by Johnny Hartman. I think that if Nat King Cole is the best in male vocal jazz, Johnny must be the second. You may see its picture and comment from other Jazz fans in the following website.

What is my comment about Chet? You know, Chet wrote the song by himself. The notes and melody are simple, but the feeling is complicated. His song also represent my feeling too sometime. What I can say is that his music is “rainy day music”. It means moody but not completely.

I also like “Sting”. His Jazz songs are as good as the one made by other so call “jazz musician” nowadays. The soundtrack of Leaving Las Vegas is remarkable. You may see its information in the following website.

I can guarantee that all songs by Sting in this soundtrack are perfect. “My one and only love” and “Angle eyes” are great. Come Rain Or Come Shine by Don Heley is also wonderful.

By the way, “I love you for sentimental reason” by Nat King Cole is fabulously remarkable.

I know "Police", I don't have their album though. Yes, Sting was one of its members. Have you ever heard "An Englishman in New York"? the music give you a feeling like a man getting lost in the city. It is great. New Orleans Jazz seems to be the first generation of Jazz. I prefer cool jazz, such as Stan Getz, Latin , bossa nova and vocal Jazz.

I don't know Preservation Hall. I searched the internet and found the following website.

http://www.preservationhall.com/

It seems to be a very nice place and the building is still in traditional New Orleans Style. It's cool. I hope i have a chance to visit this place.
