sample stces

Post by Hela »

Dear teachers,

1) "Unladylike" is an adjective or an adverb?
Would you please give me a stce with this word so I can guess its meaning?

2) I’d like to find about 10 stces with adjectives in order to analyse the position and use of adjectives in English. Where can I get them on the web?

3) I’d like to find about 10 stces with words that are not commonly used but whose mng can be guessed according to the context and not with the help of the dictionary.

Thank you for your help.

Adj.

Although she claims to be a lady she behaves in a very unladylike way.

You could try looking at newspapers and magazines. You can find the latest stories at:

You'd probably find less commonly used words in Arts & Culture or Science.
