Have you ever visited Australia?

I was just wondering how many EC members have visited Australia? I would be really interested to hear how many have and what they thought of our beautiful country.

Australia is a very vast continent. Unfortunately most of the centre of the country is desert; so the bulk of the population is on the Coast.

I look forward to hearing some stories of peoples travel and which states, and interesting sights they saw here.

I saw thousands of Lebanese with ghetto blasters, break-dancing on the promenade at Bondi Beach every weekend. I stepped over a guy with a bullet in him in (he was dead or dying, his name was Bob "the Basher") order to get a drink at a bar in Double Bay one night. I was continuously threatened by two of Abe Saffron's hench men. A couple of Cambodian guys busted into a restaraunt in Cabramatta one night and blasted some people with shot-guns. I had a car stolen four times. One night a Chinese guy stabbed another Chinese guy on my street corner and left a trail of blood down my street. I wached two surfers sitting on their surfboards duking it out with their fists, over a wave. (Eventually they had to go in to the beach to finish their fight where one (the dickhead) got his wetsuit ripped off his back)
I had to hire the Christian Lebanese Mafia as bodygaurds in order to arrive in a Sydney courtroom safely. My driver already had three bullet scars accross his face from his days as bodyguard of the Prime Minister of Lebanon.
Oh and lets not forget all the needles left in the gutter and the heroin addicts I stepped over in order to get to my vehicle. And Elton John got married accoss the street from my house.

Obviously you were in Sydney. Bondi is well known for its multi-cultural environment. However I find your tale mind boggling. I lived in Sydney all my life and never experienced anything like what you are describing. I lived on the Northern Beaches though. How long were you in Sydney. AND Court case my goodness what happened?

I know who he is ; he has been involved in many things over the years at Kings Cross...alot of media coverage over the years has educated me to his corruption. However, most Australians know that Kings Cross is a den of corruption and most chose to stay away from the area.

Yes it is a den of corruption but it is pretty hard to stay away from it when your address in on Bayswater Rd.
Did you know that every one of those markets, restaraunts and stores in Kings Cross pays protection money to crime syndicates? They have the Christian Lebanese mafia, Muslim Lebanese mafia, Saffrons crowd and even some Indonesion mafia there.

I have heard that. But surely you can find something positive about Australia. So far we have only discussed the dark side..This sort of corruption goes on all over the world. Most cities have selected areas that most people try to stay away from.

Did you get to do any further travel other than Sydney? Maybe you could share some of those experiences with EC members here as well.

I have not, but my friend has. He even brought back a didgeridoo, which he used to annoy his dog. Whenever he blows that thing, the dog would bark like crazy.

Most of our indigenous people play the Didgeridoo beautifully; it really is a haunting musical instrument when played correctly. I have heard that they are quite difficult to play though. I suppose it would be like any woodwind instrument.

Yeah, it's extremely hard to me. I did try to play it once, and gosh it was so hard. All I could get out was pttttt...ssssstttt.... and not the boooooo huuuuuuuuuuuummmmm like my bf did. He was like, "Okay, after the ten times of spitting all over my didgeridoo, you should know you can't play it." Bastard....
Anyway, you could see the one he bought it at wikipedia. There's a picture of poor quality mass produced didgeridoos and the turquoise one looks exactly like his.
