I should have posted this one first.

" RUNAWAY crocodiles continued to be caught on properties in Darwin's rural region yesterday.
It was first thought about 18 salties escaped from the Darwin Crocodile Farm at Noonamah.
But after a more thorough head count, the figure was yesterday revised up to 40. "

It really doesn't say much for the management of the crocodile farm does it? I mean it sounds more like a day-care centre than an enclosure for dangerous animals, the fact that they didn't even know the exact number missing!

Gorge still open as croc hunt continues

14 October 2005
KATHERINE Gorge remains open for tourists despite rangers being unable to locate a saltwater crocodile seen in the area this week.

Yes that is big news. However, all tourist organisations are informing tourists that they can't go for a swim. They are aware that there is a problem. Generally Katherine Gorge only has freshwater crocs which are alot smaller and no threat really.

But due to the unusual circumstances in the NT all bathers have been told to keep out of the water until further notice.

I just hope that the tourists take notice. This is usually a problem as they don't take any notice of the signs or warnings.

I an so glad that you revived my Crocodile thread. I would have done so myself but could find no relevant news on those rotten old crocs. Hmmm....a congregation! ....Probably named by an Aussie.

Have you ever seen Steve Irwin (aka 'the crocodile hunter'). The guy is a total lunatic, he loves crocs so much he runs a zoo in Queensland (Australia Zoo). He houses hundreds of the things. He even dangled his newborn son in front of one in one of his shows (much to the disgust of everyone).

I must have missed this one. I'm surprised that a 'salty' was in Katherine Gorge, there are heaps of freshwater crocs there (not as big a problem) but a salty. How on earth did it manage to get there, walk? :?

Maybe Steve Irwin put that croc there. He is a bit of a nut you know! Actually my sister met Steves wife once. They had a nice chat about his wifes home state, Oregon. She seems so nice. What is she doing with Steve?
