This week: Peru

I dont know but when I do I will try to bring you a big box of books to read...i remember you asking for some in another post....my luck is so right on, I just saw a show on the Travel channel about PERU! the guy there was sort of loco but he went to some cool palces...tried the yucca drink (fermented) and the corn mash beer? he caklled it beer but it was chiri....i forget. It looked like keifer a yogurt drink...with bubbles....nice pink drink....some people looked very happy!
I think I would be high all the time from the elevation!
Also I was impressed when he tried the guinea pig without getting squirmy....interesting. It looked good. I have always wanted to see the beautiful Macchu Picchu....I mean in person.
too bad I am sort of poor too....no money for travel anyway....I spend too much on books!

Dear Maricela, I would like to help you, but unfurtunally the only person who could do this is Lalee, and she is not here anymore, I don´t know what happen with him.
I´m from México, and I only know a little of things in Peru. Example: people regulary eat fish, is their basic food. They only eat chicken in parties.
If they decide to do a special party they prepare food, then they say this party is a "pollada".
"Polladas" are very popular in Perú. and People remeber with emotion that kind of party. All waht you could wish could happen in a Pollada, get a boyfriend, get totaly drunk, etc.

I'm doing a little research about Peru and it looks interesting. The first thing I check about a country is the cuisine and it looks like Peruvian dishes are a mix of Amerindian and Spanish. The ceviche looks yummy!
