marmaris

Postby leopold » Tue Apr 25, 2006 4:19 pm

Hello Esra,

I'v been in your country once, the place's called Marmaris and i liked it. The country didn't look very muslim, though muedzin's singing woke us up early in the mornings. The question is what's the way local boys get acquainted with local girls in your country. It looks like they are very focused on tourist females and the reason should be the local girls are hard to get.

Hello Leopod

Marmaris is a touristic place... The sense of being muslim varies from place to place...

Some cities are conservative, some are not... The independent of traditions also varies from place to place...

It all depends on the person...

Local boys are fond of tourists, you say... Maybe some... and the reasons depend... Some really like them, some think that they are freer in sex when comparing with the local girls, we cannot put only one reason...

But one must accept that places like Marmaris where you are as much free as you are in their own country is Turkey and the places like some cities in the east or inland where you could feel a conservative reaction are also Turkey... Turkey has both east and west...

Hello Esra,

Excuse me if the question looks impolite, is the way of making acquaintance of native girl is regulated by tradition or religiously in your country? In my city girls and boys do that freely any place, in sweden I was told they should find someone to be introduced, even teenagers.

It depends... If their families or neighbourhood are conservative and narrow minded, it is not that easy to live freely but if their families and neighbourhood are open minded, no problem at all...

in my opinion you should come here,if you can come in Istanbul.., Istanbul is the best city in the world in every respect I think. Moreover I want to travel all over the world in the future if I can  but as I said, I cannot think a life without Istanbul..

Also, The people in my country are not as arabic people, they have difference style of doing somethings:) they've great sense of humour, our minibus drivers have been allways tragicomic though, you should waste time with them :D on the bus,may be I will write a book about them whatever...

someone said that freedom was very important, but here are everything free, if you want to live as a muslim that is necessary I think you can, if you want to live as a christian or..you can, In other words, Turkey is a tolerant country. Ican have fun with my girlfriend and anyone can't prevent..

Last but,not least, I know that I have made you borred
I desirous suggest you come Turkey, take all of the prejudice about that beautiful country away and come here, we are waiting for you. Are we where? everywhere

sorry for making you borred due to my long sentences

ESRA I thınk you are gıvıng your ıdesa about Turkey not the common sense of Turkısh people..

Turkey ıs a place wıth about 99& percent Muslım people and most of the people are very fond of and depend on tradıtıons whıch also ıncludes the hospıtalıty that most of you are mentıonıng throughout the pages..

as for the questıon that you ask or wander leoplod, In the areas where you vısıted are the places that the places whıch are not supposed or can not be consıdered to reflect the common Turkısh people or lıvıng of understandıng of the Turks .these places as you mentıoned ıs laden wıth ınternatıonal peoples:) I mean persons from all over the world and the people who choose the lıve a lıfe acoordıngly goes to that kınd of places plus ıf they have more money. but common Turks are unable to go such places and I strongly thınk that the thousands of people that you saw there do NOT reflect the 70 mıllıon peoples of Turkıye.. the rıght sıde of the ıdeas of the frıend ıs that ıt can be regıoanl the tradıtıoanl lıvıng of the dependence on tradıtıon or relıgıon. It can be ıllustrated by the fact that ın Konya whıch locates ın the ınner lands of Turkıye people are more fond of theır relıgıon and ın Gazı Antep whıcıh locates ın the southeast part of Turkıye PEOPLE are clınged on theır cultures more than the other places..

and the last words that I utter:) the frıend says only narrow mınded people and conservatıves ones ın Turkey do not alloow uch kınd of lıfe freedom etc..so by sayıng these words the frıend accepts that most of the Turkısh people are clasıfıed under these ınsults! and the ınsulted ones who are so called narrow mınded( accordıng to the frıend!) and conservative are the actual Turkısh people whom you are encountered and treated ın a hospıtable and humanely..

THANKS..

There are some prejudgings about Turkish in Europe, but we, the Turkish must think about it, as the European must do.
First;Ottoman Empire included Arabians, Greek, Bosnian...And the last leaving parts were Arabic soils, so many think that Turkish people are Arabian. But as you say we are Turkish guys, not Arabians. If you aren't English, nobody tells about you that 'He is French'.Got it?
Second;Arabic letters are used to write Quran, and Turkish people feel that they need to read it, so they read the translations or learn Quran(Not all the Arabic language, just Quran)..So, that's why some think Turkish are ARabic...
So, tell me...Would you call an English with the words 'Hey, French man!'?
