Nuclear Power Plant planned for Port Stephens near Newcastle

Postby Shazzam » Tue May 23, 2006 10:48 pm

We have heard on the radio this morning that the state government is considering a Nuclear Power Plant for Port Stephens area (where I live). Port Stephens is approximate 45 kilometres from Newcastle.

I don't know how I feel about it. What do other members think about Nuclear power; it is a more cleaner form of energy and less expensive; do the risks outweigh the positives? :?

There's a nuclear power plant near the area where I live, too. I always say that the day it explodes we all are going straight to hell.

Ok Danyet you have made your point! I don't think it is a wonderful idea myself. However what ideas do you have to fix the power shortages. Where would a safe place be (if any) to put a Nuclear power plant. I know SPRINGFIELD!

What power shortages? There are no power shortages. It is all a political ploy. If there was a power shortage it would only be because there are too many people trying to live in this arid land and in that case all we would have to do to solve the problem is kick all those worthless politicians out. Then we would have power like we used too 20 years ago when we boasted of oodles of cheap hydro electrical power. This is a manufactured problem!!!!!!
