A series of unfortunate events! Or luck!!

Postby Shazzam » Mon Nov 06, 2006 10:17 pm

Since returning to study this year I have misplaced my wallet three times; only to have it returned I can't believe it.

The first time:

I left my wallet at McDonalds where I had taken Carly for breakfast. I rang and the manager said someone had handed it in. FEWEEE!

Second time at college I lost it in the toilets and someone handed it in to security.

AND LAST AND HOPEFULLY THE LAST>

Last week in Sydney at a Bernard Fanning concert with about 10,000 people there. I dropped it. Once outside i sat on the ground frantically looking for it. Amongst all those people a girl came up to me and said "have you lost your wallet" "yes, I replied". She said "I don't know if it is yours but I just handed a wallet in at the reception desk".
YES folks it was mine.

There are some really honest people out there; but I better stop pushing my luck.

As anything like this ever happened to anyone else out there?

:D

Sorry to change the subject but there's something that really shocked me: You take your daughter to McDonald's for breakfast?!

Take it from me it isn't a regular event. That is the first time in years that I have taken her there. She wanted their pancakes for breakfast and because she had been ill for three days; I thought why not.

I'm just so lucky that the people there were so honest.

Mind you we haven't been back since. I make my own pancakes but she just wanted a treat.

Oh I thought maybe it was normal in Australia to have breakfast at McDonald's

As for your question, it's happened to me a couple of times. I lost my wallet (many years ago now!), and it was returned. I just had to go to the Lost and Found office in my town's City Hall and somebody had brought it there.

Haven't you ever had McDonalds for breakfast Dixie?

They have a really good menu now you can even have a cup of coffee with raisin toast it is like a coffee shop. My daughter loves there pancakes. As I said though it is a treat. We only do it once every couple of years. I think McDonalds is really trying to improve there image in Australia you can even get salads, dinners with vegetables and everything.

I think they had to as people's attitudes were changing. Plus there has been so much debate about getting kids addicted to junk food, like in the US.

Dog, no! Moreover I live in a small town, the nearest McDonald's is 20km away.

Anyway I'm glad to hear they're trying to improve their image and are adding healthier recipes to their menus.

I love McDonald's breakfast. It's way better than BK.

You're pretty lucky. Last time, my sister forgot her cell phone at a register while paying for her clothes. When we were on the way home, five minutes after we were out of the store, we called back to ask for the phone. They told us they didn't see it, or no one reported anything in the lost and found box. We then tried to call the cell; it was already turned off. I bet if she's lucky enough, she would see hers again somewhere on Ebay.

Thats so awful it is so hard when you lose something like that. I realise how lucky I have been I'm not going to push it anymore though I am so careful with my wallet now, What is so upsetting about your sister is that obviously someone was watching her; because they were so quick in picking up her phone. How slack!

We doubted the cashier was being honest. Well, my sister was talking on the phone in front of that guy when she was putting the clothes down next to the register and trying to take her credit card out of her purse. Then she asked my cousin to switch the shirt she had there for her since she'd brought the wrong size to the register. It was confusing and distracting. I guess that was why she forgot her phone there. When we called back to the store, that cashier said he didn't see anything. Whatever!
