Yes!!! It's kind of funny! But in Spanish we have the word "Gringo", which is used to name people from the U.S, instead of call them "Americanos" ( American)..

Here in Brazil we call all foreigners "gringos". It's the same word in Portuguese.

Hey Elba, cariocas is how we call people from Rio de Janeiro city only. I'm paulista because I'm from São Paulo. But I don't mind if you call me carioca.

Hey Elba, cariocas is how we call people from Rio de Janeiro city only. I'm paulista because I'm from São Paulo. But I don't mind if you call me carioca.


Oh thought you were all Cariocas!!! Do you know what? I like Rio, in fact, it's a famous city because of the Brazilian soap operas!

Hey brazilian soap operas are great. I rember :The slave; Miss Flor and her two housbands; Hilda Hurrican; Agost (Fantastic); Blue River; etc.

Yeah Edumelo We call Carioca all people from brazil.
I like musci from brasil too, I love vosanova.
