You haven't addressed one issue that I have presented, yet. You complain about drinking sewer water when what you should be doing is reining in your out of control government. Australia's pop. increase rate is twice that of China and almost that of India (where they have lots of babies. Aussies don't have lots of babies, hence the birth to death ratio is almost even)
Australian pop. growth is about 40% higher than USA and it is bad enough there.

You are so gullible it is ridiculous! This all about BIG money. The fat cats need a large population in order to have a money making economy and line their pockets. What do they care if the land is destroyed the way of life becomes mutated, crime increases and you have to drink sewer water?
What they are doing is equal to the parents of 10 children who they can barely afford to feed accepting 9 of the neighbors kids as well on the promise that the parents will receive steak dinners.

If you are so committed to immigration why don't you start a thread about it? I think you are the one that is gullible if you have only one idea of why this country has a water shortage. A very limited view!!! I'm really not interested in birth/death ratio's at this point, to me it is irrelevant to the topic which is WATER. Usage and conservation thereof. There is no point griping about it action is what is required, it can start today. There are things we can do as individuals, we can't blame everything on the Government. Some responsible people are building new homes using solar energy and grey water, rain tank systems etc.

NSW Premier - Mr Iemma - has announced that he will push forward for desalination plant in Sydney. Yahoo what a great idea at last someone that acknowledges that we have a problem in this country. We are surrounded by water why not use it. Stay tuned I think this is really exciting.
