Hi Jeff. Australia is a multi-cultural society. We have embraced MOST cultures including their cuisines (foods). I would have to say that the national food for most AUSSIES is the good old BBQ..As the climate in Australia is generally very mild we are people that like to be outside. Also being an Island continent we spend alot of time at the waters edge. We tend to be coastal dwellers. You should be able to get further details about Australia and its culture off the internet. GOOGLE AUSTRALIA! Good luck and welcome to EC. 8)

I don't believe in the term average AUSSIE there is no such thing anymore. We have become capilatists in this country. Where is the average AUSSIE. Probably on the dole and given up on ever doing anything else.

You really confuse me Danyet you have spent such limited time here in the last two decades but you feel (by reading material) that you have a real knowledge of what people actually think here. I totally disagree with you. I think most AUSSIES these days accept multiculturism and in fact in most cases embrace it.

Obviously there are issues (mostly over religion) but as a general rule we get about the business of living in a beautiful land and appreciating the benefits that we have. Maybe next time you come home for a visit I need to get you out amongst the general public instead of hiding away in regional areas.
