Sometimes surfing the net is like entering a bar! Everyone has his own reason to go there. Some for the pleasure, others for company and sympathy…etc

As for me, I'm not that desperate to look for company or sympathy in these places.

I agree with you somewhat about the "Surfing net & Bar" idea. However,I would like to add a little comment there. Some people dont chat with strangers because they are desperate as for me I like to chat to people from around the world to read them like a book,to live their lives and see it from their eyes.Believe me even if you cant visit the world, throught the net you can learn and see alot of geat things that can add value to your life and well being

I don't agree with you! You remind me of apart of a song for Madonna

"I went into a bar
looking for sympathy
a little company
I tried to find a friend
It's more easily said
It's always been the same
This type of modern life"

Yes, indeed. Especially when we talk about insecure people. This can affect their lives for ever.

You know Miss. Ladybird, our culture/traditions separate us in someways, so I guess, this kind of topic is just not for you. However, this topic is needed here to keep us aware of what's going on inside (the web, which is outside of EC, of course)...
Had I not read Ms.A.Z's experience, I wouldn't know that this kind of incident recurrently happen inside the web. So, I find Ms.A.Z's topic here in the forum very helpful.

:) Sometimes, the ending of the story may not suit other people's taste but if we will take the story constructively there are a lot of sensible things to learn. Thanks Ms.A.Z.....

Would anybody here like to confess that they found their love in the internet once?

there are quite a few things I remember I disliked much while chatting online with strangers. I guess I used to be a very chatty person back then, because now I can hardly find some desire to care to talk to anyone I don't know. So when I was around hmm 15? or 16? I used to chat on AOL IM and there were a lot of creepy old cyber enthusiasts and once a guy I talked for the first time in my life asked me to accept his pic and I did and it was an enormous photo of a penis...but a huge one, really. I felt so disgusted...and afterwards decided never to look at any other stranger's pics...
I must also say I truly dislike when people I don't know ask me to accept them on MSN. I usually do that but now I found myself in a place where I have 200 msn buddies and I haven't chatted to 180 of them! That's awful. And even if any of them start their conversation with me, they always comment me on my photo and ask me if I had a webcam? How pathetic is that? I just can't stand it...

Well, I guess the Internet is not the best place to find a true love, in my opinion...but then again I must tell you the story of my friend who started playing this online RPG game and she met there this guy..they've started chatting together, sent a lot of txts msgs and got to know each other so well that they even decided to meet in real life...and guess what? They're a couple now... I guess it's a nice story however I dunno if it's responsible if one falls in love over the Net and then you can only spend your time online or once in a while in real life...I think I wouldn't want that. The whole separating thing must be really awful for the lovers...don't you think?
