Monks brave teargas and gunfire to challenge generals' grip on Burma

This news might break our rule of no discussion of politics or religion if the members discuss it in any way related to politics or religion. Therefore, I'm asking you not to do it. Instead, please talk about it as a peaceful act that needs more support.

I know I'm supporting it. It's not because there are monks involved. I'm doing it because I believe what they're doing is right.

As Blaise Pascal said, "justice and power must be brought together, so that whatever is just may be powerful, and whatever is power may be just."

When a friend from Hawaii sent me a link to a news article about monks’ involvement, I replied simply that I thought it important that the monks be clear that their involvement was only for promoting happiness, peace and freedom, not any political ideology.

I am so offended right now!

Are you from Hawaii? I like Hawaii, I've never been there though, it is said that there are many beautiful beaches there...

Yes, very depressed! (But my sympathy has got nothing to do with any party...I'm not against any party because I understand that everything has its positive and negative aspects.)

Absolutely. Nonetheless, some political party out there would do anything to shut you up from criticizing the country. And those people got beaten, killed, tortured, and disrobed because they found their government was unreasonable. History has repeated itself. :roll:
