suspicious emails | spam

Postby Vega » Thu Feb 14, 2008 1:05 pm

I have just checked my email and found an interesting letter. They say I am a winner.

Here's it:

Code: Select all
Congratulations you won the Australia Lottery of $400,000 USD. For further information and claim, contact your claims agent with the below email address and quote this Winning number: 1-2-26-30-40-21

Agent's Contact:
Name:  Mr.Edward Samuel
Email:  australialotteryoffice.edward@yahoo.com.au
Phone: +447011146614.

Signed.
Australian Lottery Inc.

Do you think they are really going to give me $400, 000 USD ? :D ..I don't think so, a serious company don't send emails from a yahoo address...

Have you ever got emails like that?

Whenever I get a similar email I simply ignore it, just like everyone else does.No one should ever pay attention to emails like that.

It would be more like that they make you to pay.. probably that's phone number have high tax or some other trick.. Like saying that you have to bay money transfer fee first to get money, or something. I guess there must be still some people who fall into that kind of lame scam.. why else they bother with it.

That’s right, as my uncle says “free cheese can only be in a mousetrap.”
