I want to know more about Australia

Postby hechenthe » Thu Nov 29, 2007 10:11 pm

Hello people from Australia, I want to know more about your country. Here in Costa Rica the people talk about your country, but is better that some people that born there or live there tell about it.

I apreciate it

thanks

Even though I am not a native person, I am currently living in Australia, Adelaide. So far, it's been very good challenge and experience for my life in Australia.
I have been here almost 8 months and aiming for parmanent residency in the near future so I am preparing to apply for the course in tafeSA which is governed by the Australia government.

I do not have any idea about Costa Rica, your country. However, In South Korea where I came from has a big problems at the moment. In fact, there are people who graduated from university and they do not have a permanent job or any job due to the lack of demand to the people. Morever, it is getting worse and worse to survive in South Korea.

On the other hand, In Australia, there are planty opportunities to get a job and make a own business, and the Australian government looks after public people very well, for example if you lost your job, the government gives you some money for keeping life and helps you to find another job what you might want.
Moreover, the hospital, madicine store, and dendist's are absolutely free. You might do not believe what I am saying like I had done but it is true and I have found that this country is the best country in the world.

If you are currently having your own skill and willing to live in Australia with your good English, it would be absolutely a chance to change your life.

This statement isn't exactly accurate. If you are receiving Government Benefits (pension) you may be entitled to a Health Care card. This doesn't necessarily mean that you will get all medical expenses covered. For example all tax payers in Australia pay a Medicare Levy in their tax each year. This is what keeps the hospital system going. As for free dental also you have to qualify for this and in most instances it only applies to the elderly and children. There are very large waiting lists for dental services. Not all Doctors in Australia bulk-bill regardless of whether you hold a health care card or not. As for prescriptions you still have to pay for them with a health care card you just get them cheaper.
