Maracay is a nice city, and with its architecture, urbanism and vegetation it looks like most of the brazilian cities. And your voice sounds like a child voice Ori  how long did you recorded that?

Hahahah yes. Like a child  .. Well, that was an imrpovising recording. We didn't even know how to do it but we needed for that presentation; the video was an activity for college that we had to handle in. It took me like 20 minutes to record it but with the whole group we lasted like. mmm... 2 hours..!!!

People don´t eat soup on the strett. he refer to snaks. and there is not accidents for that, I mean not a big percentage of accidents, and if there is one this is not provoque a big problem. People from another continents have a wrong idea of us.
Latinamerican people is very friendly, warm, but veru respectfull with others, particulary with tourist.
We smile because, even the economic crisis, we are happy. Poor very poor people smile, go to parties, or only go to the street to chat with neigbors. If is the birthdat or someone of the poor family, even they don´t have enough money, they prepare a little better food to celebrate.
We say "hello" not only with words but also wit smiles, kisses, shake hands, and if someone find a person who is angry and protest about anything the rest think "what a crazy boy/woman she/he is neurotic" and we encourage other to be happy "take it easy".
You should ask people who had visited a latinamerican country and I´m sure a hig percentage will answer that we are warma and friendly people.
Particulary I don´t like to eat snakcs, but here in this bigger city, people don´t have enough time to sid dawn and eat breakfast or lunch, so too much people eat in the office, school or work.

Kisses for all of you

Thanks for your answer, and to clarify my idea............ is difficult to understand how people dont know our culture and think bad about it, but we have in our latin countries many tourists every day more, and there´ll be a better information about us.....

Maybe because there are many TV programs that give bad information about us. Maybe because the tv producers are only interested in show the bad side, and all the countries arround the world have a bad side.
Recently I saw a TV programa, a serie, about a mexican family in USA, imagine they said that their grand Mom was a women called Valentina, who had fought in the Mexican Revolution. Then mention a son about their imaginary grand MOm, the song was called La Valentina and the birthday of the gran Mom was May 5.
A wanted to died, in fact there is a "corrido" son called La Valentina, but she was an imaginary personalitie, and May 5 is the day of a battle that take place in the mexican state called Puebla in order to throw out of the country the french soldiers. OMG!!!!!
american producers change our mexican history and destroy it. and gave a bad idea of a mexican family.
I didn´t like that for that reazon I pretend in this forum latinamerican people show us as we are, I mean our real personality, not tv fictions. Feel free to open as mani topics as you decide and talk about your custums, your life, your dreams.

 It makes me remember a movie I watched (Mr Magoo), were the detective Mr Magoo goes to Brazil searching for a trafficker. In the trafficker's house (in a jungle... in Rio  ) there was an african ape guarding the house... after pursue the trafficker Mr Magoo fell in a river and after he felt in the Iguazu waterfall (wasn't he in Rio? the Iguazu waterfalls are about 1000 km from Rio).

I know that was a comedy movie, but I know there are foreigners who think Brazil is a big tropical jungle, with slums and football fields and the only city is Rio.

Darling, I think It´s not a bad word itself, is more like a very, very informal one.... Remember that there are much more bad words to say "great" here in Venezuela...

But that word is not to used in the whole territory... I mean, for instance, here in Maturin (the city I´ve been living in) is more used the word "vergatario" to say "great", rather than "de pinga"... I don´t know if that word is a bad one... The only thing I know is that they use it a lot....

An answer, at last! So I guess that "vergatario" would be a close synonym of what the Spanish call "cojonudo"

Better later than never, isn´t it?.... :D

Sorry, I have some doubts about what "cojonudo" means... I guess it means "bold" or "fearless"... Am I right?... ... Anyway, If that so, yes, you can use it in that context....

Also, It can be used when you want to say that someone is the best or at least very good doing anything... For instance, let´s imagine that I´m living in Catalonia, and someone ask me who is the best english teacher in town... I would say Dixie is and if he/she ask me why, I could reply: "Because she´s a "vergataria" doing that....

P.S: Yes, you can used it with any person, no matter the genre... although is not very common to use it to describe a lady....
