Man kept his daughter locked for 24 years!!!

Post by jrkp »

Can you believe this? An Austrian man kept his daughter locked in a cellar for 24 years... But that´s not all, apparently she had 7 kids with him.. The worst part is that supposedly, 3 of them hadn´t seen the sunlight yet...

Oh my god!! when I thought that the world couldn´t be more crazy and then, I came across with this kind of news...

You can see more information about it clicking in this link:

Couldn't believe it when I heard it yesterday.

But there are some things I don't understand! What about the woman's mother? Didn't she ever notice anything? How could she not suspect anything?! How about the babies? Were they never ill? The man said that he and his wife had adopted three of them when they found them one day at their door. Is it that easy to adopt children in that country? Here, the lists are really really long.

I really hope he goes to prison. And unfortunately the I'm afraid the poor woman will have to be taken to a mental asylum or something. I don't think one is OK after such an experience!

I just heard that all this has been discovered because one of the children became ill. His (grand)father took him to the hospital and, seeing he had a strange disease (he was product of an incest) the doctors wanted to see the mother. That's when she was taken to hospital and explained everything.

The kids were adopted by them without trouble because the mother was forced to write a letter saying she was in a cult and couldn't take care of them, and asked her parents to do so for her.

This is so incredible.

This is horrable and disgusting. It's happening in a European country in the beginning of the 21st century and no one around is noticing. I'm taken aback. The guy is a monster, I wonder if his daughter-wife have ever tried to kill him somehow, I mean she had to bear it for such a long period of time... Oh my god, how sorrowful, truly, the whole story is stomach turning. I hope he'll be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law

Me too, Tora.

There are still so many things I don't understand.

For instance, can't a 42-year-old woman beat a 73-year-old man? He was an elder anyway.

The room was soundproof, but I still can't understand why the mother never suspected anything. Maybe she was involved in this as well?

The man raped his daughter for the first time when she was 11. Didn't the mother know that? Was she raped too and thought this was normal?

This whole issue is so dark.

Who knows what he had told her... Remember the very first time he raped her she was 11. Maybe that's all she has ever known... We don't know what's on her mind. Maybe she doesn't think bad about him. We'll never know.

Good point!! But remember that when the whole thing started, he was 49 and, a man having that age is still able to beat up a 18 years old lady.. I don´t know... I guess the years went by and she lost the faith to escape of that nightmare..

I agree with you regarding the mother's reaction, is so confusing :? ... My question would be: why didn´t she try to contact her daughter? I mean if she were involve in a cult or something like that, at least she would´ve tried to talk to her and try to convince her to come back home... That's any mother would do, isn´t it?... Didn´t she worried about her daugther´s life?. Was she so convince of his husband´s words that she´d never tried to look for her?...

This is what I'm dying to know. They say mothers have own instincts when things happen to their offspring. I guess this doesn't seem to apply to this case. She let things slipped by because of a note that the daughter, an eleven years old kid, had left the house and joined some "cult" ??? Did she even try to inform the police? Did she think it was kidnapping? How could she not know that her husband had been sleeping with "another woman"?? Don't women always get the feelings that their husbands are physically cheating on them? I do not understand it... :?

Well, people in the past could do it, so I guess we still can. Despite this fact, I still think this is quite illogical. I think there was a person who helped her going through labor. I don't think it was him. The question is, who was that person?

She was raped when she was 11. I think that's why it seems like she has no desire to escape this nightmare because most kids tend to take the fault as their own when horrible things happened to them, especially when they haven't done anything wrong. Well, not only kids do that, some adults do it as well. Like last time I was watching an interview between Oprah and the writer, Maya Angelou. Dr. Angelou said she was raped when she was six or seven. And she told other people about the raping. The rapist was put in jail afterwards. However, several days later the police told her family that the man was kicked to death. She stopped talking from that point on, for she thought she was responsible for his death. She thought her voice had killed him. That's why she was scared to speak. She was afraid if she spoke, her words would kill someone.

I think this woman might have some similar feelings. I assume that her father had told her too many reasons why she was put in the cellar. Day after day he brainwashed her with those lies to the point that she believed she deserved to be there. Anyway, I'd love to hear her voice. I'd like to know if she ever tried to escape the place. Also, I'd like to know the things she'd done during that twenty-plus years.

It's a very big chance that she was involved. Otherwise, she just seems pretty dumb. I wonder if they ever interview the poor daughter. And I'm very curious to know why only some of her children were given to the "grandparents"

Yes. As far as I know, one of the babies died, she kept 3 locked with her and the other 3 were living with their "grandparents". Why? I would like to know that as well, Lennye.

Last time, I was talking to my friends about this, and one of them said, "the sick "grandniece" was a lucky one; otherwise, he would have done her, too." I almost barfed after hearing this. How disgusting!

So, she has one kid died and one is having an unknown disease. I wonder if the rest are normal. It'd suck if they're retarded.

Yesterday I heard about a case in West Germany - a woman is charged with murder of three her own babies just after their birth. Her 18-year old son has discovered their corpses in the freezer, they were wrapped in newspapers the earliest of ones goes back to 20 year-period to the past.

an artcile here

the world is rolling to the bottom

and Fritzle, that one bastard, is supposed more likely not to have a sentence at all as mentally ill. the whole family needs to be checked, including Mom.

Note to Dixie and Xkalibur, surprisingly but I'm going to contradict myself, rumour has it that mentally ill men's thing works better than mentally straight one.

I'm from Austria and I'm still shocked that such a horrible crime happend in the country I live in.

It was on the news for weeks and I want to tell you what I know about the case "Fritzl"

Josef Fritzl grew up without a father. The single parenting of her son was to much for his mother. In his childhood Mr. Fritzl learned how to assert himself against his violent mother.

When he married his wife, Rosemarie Fritzl, she was only 17 years old and didn't have a good school-education so it would have been very hard for her to earn enough money to feed her family alone.

Mr. Fritzl has always been a tyrant. He made his family understand that he was the big boss. He was the one who earned the money and made the decissions. Questions about his decissions and his doing were strictly forbidden. His wife has been very afraid of him.

He was very good in portaying himself as the perfect father and husband in front of others. He fooled a lot of people and also the youth office of Austria.
He made 7 kids with his daugther of which one died. He adopted three of the kids. Everytime he forced his daughter to write an emotional letter in which she had to explain why she decided to give the baby away. After the baby had beed found an employee of the youth office came to make sure that it's o.k. that the child grows up in this family. If he wanted he could be very friendly to people so everything seemed to be perfect and he was allowed to adopt his child.

His daugther, Elisabeth, did everything for her children. She persuaded her father to bring vitamin D pills and books for the children. She educated her children very well. They knew how to read and write.

Mr. Fritzl lived a perfect double life until he allowed Elisabeth to bring their 19 year old daughter to hospital. The doctors have never seen such a pale person and were wondering about her symptoms and the fact that she didn't even have a name. It was the beginning of the end.

Elisabeth and her 6 children stayed in a psychatric hospital for 6 months. They now live in a house under a different last name.
Rosemarie Fritzl lives a lonely life in a small apparment and has an income of only 700 Euro.

Josef Fritzl was charged with unlawful detention, rape, inbreeding and neglection. He was found guilty and is in prison now and he will be there until the end.

All this facts still don't explain to me why things like that can happen.

Last week I heard that it happend again. - in Brazil
A man kept his daugther locked in a hut in the jungle which was only reachable by canue.

  :~:
