2009 in Australia

Postby Shazzam » Sat Dec 27, 2008 10:45 am

This is a weird topic to bring up since we still have a few days until it actually happens. So much has happened in my country this year. We have a new Prime Minister (new party) they have apologised to the Indigenous people for the misgivings by previous generations which was pretty good. They have also signed the Kyote Agreement but only agreed to 5 percent until America and some other countries make changes. I personally think that is fair enough, there is no point in us saying we will do more unless everyone agrees.

So ultimately there have been some really big changes which is great. I have a feeling that in 2009 things are going to get better for everyone. Australia is very lucky we have escaped the recession because of very basic fiscal policies one of which was regulation.

I just hope that other countries have these policies in place.

The one thing that I have noticed is the downturn in employment. I'm hoping this is a short term situation but I feel that companies are very concerned about world economic downturn.

I would be really interested to hear from everyone to see how things are going in your Country and also whether or not you feel that 2009 will bring renewal to everything including financial issues.
