I don't watch too many detective movies, but there are a few good ones I've seen. The Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downy Jr. was pretty good. That came out last year I believe.

Shutter Island.. Nice suggestion ..

But I would like to go with the Straw dogs. The trailers of the movie seems to be just so good to watch and enjoy. And Hope the movie will also be as promising as it seems. So I You must watch straw dogs. That is a good movie to watch and enjoy.

Sherlock Holmes was a very good detective movie .. But I have a particular interest in Sherlock, the new series with Benedict Cumberbatch. It's full of humour, suspense and action. This series gives a new dimension to Conan Doyle's character and I love it :p
There are also all the movies inspired by Agatha Christie's novels with Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Excellent movies and very entertaining.
