TODAY A MEMORABLE DAY...

Post by ArnauEstanyol »

For all my EnglishClub pals:

Today is our 25th wedding anniversary. A very special day. We go to enjoy it very much indeed. Cheers!!

Congratulations and celebrations
When I tell everyone that you're in love
with me
Congratulations
and jubilations
I want the world to know I'm happy as can be.
Who could believe that I could be happy and
contented
I used to think that happiness hadn't been
invented
But that was in the bad old days beforeI met you
When I let you
walk into my heart
I was afraid that maybe you thought you
were above me
That I was only fooling myself to think you
loved me
But then tonight you said you couldn't live
without me
That round about me
You wanted to stay

Congratulations...Congratulations and jubilations
I want the world to know I'm happy as can be
I want the world to know
I'm happy as can be

lyrics from Cliff Richard

Oh Elisa, you cannot imagine the great, great pleasure I have to meet someone from Italy. I'm from Barcelona. I like very much indeed the ancient Roman history. In fact I'm a collector of Roman coins and one of my dreams is travel, someday, to Rome and Naples (Pompeii).

Hugs from Catalonia

Hi, are you Arnau of the "Cathedral on the Sea" by I.Falcones? :-)

I am sure you can easily reach Rome or Napoli from Barcelona, it isn't far.
Unfortunately I don't collect coins. You have to go to Pompei and Ercolano. It's a great experience.

Last year I went to Barcelona. By Ryanair it is really cheap.
You live in a very nice city.
The Ghotic Quarter was very interesting and people are gentle.
I loved Gaudy and his fairy-tale architecture, too.
Where do you live in Barcelona, near the sea?

All the best, ciao!

Yes, I am. I see you have read that book. My real name is Miquel.

Yes my dream is visit Pompei and Ercolano. They say that Ercolano although less known than Pompei is best preserved. I've went to some expositions about Pompei here in Barcelona and it seemed to me very interesting.
Last year I went to Barcelona. By Ryanair it is really cheap.
You live in a very nice city.
Thank you. Barcelona has a lot of places to visit and enjoy its warm and funny nights. Every year, in summer we multiply per two our population because the tourists.
You know the Mediterranean character. You and me are sharing the same Mediterranean character, so when you are in Barcelona you're in your home. And the same will occur with me when I visit Italy.
Next time you come here you must visit Montserrat (The magic mountain). It's amazing.
Yes, there is none like Gaudi worldwide. An universal Catalan.
I think Barcelona is the only city in Europe that maintains in the same place the actual city hall and the ancient Roman Forum.
Where do you live in Barcelona, near the sea?

I live on the outskirts of Barcelona. From my window I can see part of Barcelona and the sea too.
Do you live in Rome?

Ciao Miquel! So you are one of the "bastaixos" {-: As you can see I really love that book! I have read it three times!

I love Spain. In April I visited Valencia and its "Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias".
Calatrava is great, he is the future!!! We have a bridge of this architect in Venezia.
I didn't like the "horchata". Do you think it is serious?

I live in a little village in the North.
At the moment I am in my house in the mountains (1400 m a/s level) on holidays. I spend all summer here. I like walking in the mountains!

This year, I can have my computer with because we have many PV so I have time to improve my English but I don't read many books... }:
Today I learned a new word (thanks to you)..."outskirts". I usually used "suburbs."

Ciao from the most beautiful mountains of the world!

Ciao Elisa. Glad to read you.

Yes the Catatrava's work is very interesting. I've been in Valencia a couple of times and I think the better season to go there is in March for the "Falles". Do you know it? if not try this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallas. uuups!! Don't you like horchata?. Oh my God!!. Horchata is one of the best refreshing drinks that I know. I'm a fan of the horchata. Here in Barcelona we put into it a little of cinnamon, mmmmm it's very goooood!!! {-: ... well, maybe beer is better
Sincerely: I prefer the mountain than the beach. We have a cottage in the countryside near to a village named Calafell (Tarragona) that it's sited between the beach and the mountain. You can be sure that almost we don't go to the beach. The beach is ten minutes by car from our house. Too crowded. We prefer the calm.
My favourite outdoors activity (till I got married) was climb mountains. Here, in Catalonia, we've the Pyrenees and a big and traditionally mountaineering culture.
North of Italy it's a good zone to practising outdoors sports too. The Dolomites are a dream for whom likes trekking in a network of trails with a very awesome landscapes.
Enjoy those landscapes is a gift for our soul.
You're lucky. You're still in vacations. I had my vacations in July. August is for me a working month.
Then I want wish you a very good vacations in your village among the mountains.
And I'd like maintain the contact with you.

Thank you for your time. You're very kind.

Best regards from Catalonia. {-: Adeu, Ciao.

Hi Miquel,
thanks to let me know about "Falles".
Today here is "Ferragosto" and there are parties everywhere in bars and restaurants.
As I am a hermit I had a long walk through the woods, I picked up some mushrooms, I cooked them and I had a super dinner with my family.
My husband and I also prefer calm.
I looked for Tarragona and Calafell on net; they are really very nice and interesting places. I think you enjoyed your holidays there.
If you love mountains you have to come here. The best season is July or September.
Here we have also a delicious wine :-D
Thanks to you for your time. You are very kind, too.

Keep in touch :-)
Adeu, hugs from Italy
