Calycantus: A thought

Postby Elisa » Thu Mar 01, 2012 5:15 pm

Calycantus is a pretty wildflower. It blooms in the heart of winter and reminds us that spring is not far.
This morning I found them in my garden and, smelling it, I thought that children are like flowers.
Some of them bloom in winter; they are really brave.
Some bloom in spring, other in summer and the laziest in autumn.
The most important thing is that, early or late, everybody'll bloom! :-D

What kind of flower are you?

Ciao MissLT
I didn't take a picture but I'll do this.
I like Magnolia parfume ,too. I have a tree of "Magnolia Stellata" in my garden and it is the first flower blooming in spring.

Yes, I love daffodills, too. I love all wild, brave, winter flowers.
Think to snowdrops; they start to bloom even before the snow 's gone.

Brave flowers don't wait the sun or a good season to bloom as other flowers do. They want to be strong, they think with their head and go on.
They can overcome the advertisities, smiles, bad weather and ...they are just delicate flowers.

Wonderful :-)

Interesting. I have not seen a magnolia perfume. I'll check it out at a beauty counter next time I go shopping. I'm very sensitive to overwhelming scent. I mostly use non-fragrant or very light one. To me dkny cashmere mist smells wonderful.

Dear MissLT,

we are not speaking about parfumes in the bottle. We are speaking of true and natural parfume.

If you want to know the parfume of magnolia you have to smell a flower of it :-)

Happy women's day to all of you !!

Did you receive any flower for this special day? I have had some "mimosa". I hate its "parfume".

Oh, sorry I misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about the artificial scent of magnolia. I've smelled and seen magnolia trees; they're wonderful. I'm not really a flower girl. I mean, I like flowers in general. I like them pretty much the same way I like herbs: in arts or food/drink. Other than that I'm not interested in receiving or decorating my house with a bouquet of flowers. I absolutely hate it when someone give me flowers. Yeah, appreciate me by giving me something that was once beautiful and now is dying slowly. I don't know what to say about that kinda love. I'd rather receive a $5 or whatever amount that person spent on flowers. When things are down and I need some mint ice cream or cookies to cheer me up, that money would serve its purpose. I'd always remember how that person help me to be happy when I hit a rough time. Isn't this better than a useless bouquet??
