Hello you too !

I'm living in Paris suburbs and I often go to Paris (studies; go out with some friends etc...).

If I understood your question, you asked a way to book and find a hostel in Paris, right ? Well, you have different ways as looking through Google and enter these key words "hostelworld". Then, you can look for different hostels in Paris, availability and price. This is really easy (and I think you can look on with your native language...) and useful :)

Or, you can look for hotels. Sometimes it is the same price as an hostel, especially if you're going here alone or with a friend ! Ibis; Campanile and Formule 1 are some chain hostels which are famous and have reasonable prices :)
Oh, by the way, you should look for Paris suburbs : it's less expensive :)

If you have the chance to come by, Paris has different wonderful places to visit. I can give you some several ideas :

- Le Louvre (museum where you can find La Joconde, this famous painting of Leonard de Vinci).
- Cathedral of Notre-Dame (a Disney movie took this place as a principal scene of the hatchback adventures).
- Arc de Triomphe and les Champs-Elysées (the famous avenue known as the "beautiful avenue in the world". I don't agree but maybe it's because in live here and I'm sick of Paris :p )
- Eiffel Tower (less expensive if you take the stairs and not the elevator !!! Only 3/4 € !!)
- Take the boat on the river (La Seine) called "bâteau-mouche". It costs less than 10€ and it is go on (sorry, I don't know if it's the right word in English) about 30/40 minutes.

Etc... if you're more interested into museums, just ask :)
Usually, my advice is to walk along the river La Seine, around the Cathedral (train stop : Saint Michel Notre-Dame) and walk through small streets in the Latin quarter (just on the other side of the Cathedral). You'll see some old bookstores, the Pantheon of the famous university La Sorbonne and the big park of Luxembourg. If you have time, go back and look for Saint-Germain des Prés, one of the most interesting place for tourist with these shops and restaurants (expensive !) and the Church.

A bientôt ;)

I also want to visit Paris but I don't have any relative or friend over there, so, it is pretty difficult for me [I live in Venezuela] to afford the trip. According to the Schengen agreement, I need , at least, to have an invitation from a friend... and so on... too many obstacles. Probably, in a few years I will be able to make it =)
See u.

Hi Oriani !

Wow you're from Venezuela !!! How lucky you are :) That's too bad this country has a negative image through the world media... It seems so beautiful and interesting though !

Anyway, about travelling in Europe, you don't have to get an invitation... If you're a tourist, you need a temporary visa for travelling and visiting. Maybe if you want to live in Europe, you have to know somebody (and I doubt about that...).
You should ask the France Ambassy for example.

If you really have some troubles to get these information, I can check it out here, in Paris.

See ya ! ;)

Thanks =)
Yes."bad image" but , as you have said, that's what the media says, so it is not true at all. Anyway, yes. I've got some friends in Europe, in fact, I met them from here, EC, but it is too difficult to get those things done. According to what I know so far, we don't need any visa, just to get the invitation letter, the international health insurance, a round ticket and 64 € per day [according to the days I will be in France, Paris, maybe. ] . So, I'm not so happy at all =( I really really really wish I could...not only France but other European countries.
See you and thanks for helping =)

64€ per day ?! OMG that's too much ! And it's soooo weird... that means for 10 days, you have to got 640€ ?!
Are you sure about that ? When I went to Canada, they only asked me for 400€ per month even if you should bring more but it is a minimum. I know, France and UK are expensive countries, especially in big cities like London and Paris but I doubt about the minimum.

You should come in Europe and say you're here for 10 days and then, stay longer. I'm sure nobody is gonna ask you here if you have enough in your bank account :)

Oh but they need to see your round ticket, right ? Pfiouuu it's insane ! You can say that you're gonna pay your return ticket in Europe or something. (It's not really a lie because many people here are waiting few days before the day they're leaving to get "last time price tickets" 'coz they aren't expensive at all and they don't care about the time of the flight (morning; evening...).

You really sure about these requirements ? It's so weird (I know, I'm repeating again but, believe me, it is weird :p )

Have a wondeful day (or night, I don't know abt the time difference) !

See ya 8-)

Yes. That's too much!!! At least that's what Spain asks us to get. So, it's pretty difficult for us going to Europe, but I don't know if it is the same for the rest of the 31 countries that are into the Schengen agreement... Well, I am sending you a link so that you can check this information. But if you know something else, please let me know =) =) {-; {-; {-; http://paris.stepbystep.com/how-to-get- ... paris-567/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Agreement
