Pay in the U.S.A.

Aloha folks.

I recently gained my IDELT/CELTA certification in Santiago, Chile, but had to return home because one of my family members found advanced cancer. While I help care for him, I am also looking for a job teaching ESL in the U.S. - - finding institutes hasn't been easy, but I have found a few. However, most of them are asking me for salary requirements, and I don't know what to put as I don't know what the average pay of someone starting out as an ESL teacher in the U.S. is.

Please, can anyone give me some information or an estimate?
